Day 1 Arrival to Veliky Novgorod. Check into the hotel. Breakfast. Tour of the city, which includes the incredibly beautiful architectural ensemble of the Yaroslav’s Court, and collection of the magnificent monuments of the Novgorod architecture of 12th–16th centuries. Tour of the Novgorod Kremlin, including the St. Sophia Cathedral where you can see the world famous frescoes of the 11th–19th centuries, the place where Ivan the Terrible prayed and the remarkable Icon of the Mother of God of the Sign. Lunch in the city. Riverboat tour. Dinner and entertainment at the hotel.
Day 2 Breakfast at the hotel. Tour of the Yuriev Monastery, one of the oldest in the world, where some of the buildings from 12th–19th centuries still stand. Tour of the St. George’s Cathedral (12th century), where you can see the frescoes. Tour of the nature reserve includes the clock towers, windmills, collection of the mansions belonging to the Novgorod nobles of the 14th–19th centuries. Lunch. Train to Moscow followed by a night train to Saint Petersburg.
Day 3 Arrival to Saint Petersburg. Introduction of the tour guide. Breakfast. Bus tour of Saint Petersburg including all major plazas. Tour of the Peter and Paul Fortress and Cruiser Aurora. Tour of the Hermitage – Russian Louvre. Lunch in the center of the city. Check into the hotel. Individual free time.
Day 4 Bus tour which includes Mikhailovsky Castle, also called the Engineer Castle, Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, Spit of Vasilievsky Island, and St. Isaac’s Cathedral. Lunch in the center of the city. Pedestrian tour of the Nevsky Prospekt and tour of the Kazan Cathedral. Tour of the rivers and canals. Individual free time. Night train to Moscow.
